چکیده
Background. Breast cancer contributed to 11.8 % of all the oncological diseases detected in Russia 2020 and 21.7 tumors among women. The frequency brain metastases is estimated at 13–32 %. It known that HER2 positive triple negative breast cancers metastasize more frequently. Aim. To present case stereotactic high‑dose irradiation for a large brainstem metastasis from re‑irradiation recurrence. Materials methods. Analysis results recurrence with local control over five years was performed. Results. after did not show any signs tumor progression or post‑radiation necrosis. patient’s Karnofsky Performance Status 100 points. Conclusions. shows necessity highly conformal dose delivery tumor, precise determination boundaries on high resolution thin slice magnetic resonance imaging, verification using metabolic studies hypofractionated delivery. remains open whether what extent target therapy may contribute control.

Accelerator-based stereotactic radiosurgery for brainstem metastases.
BACKGROUND Stereotactic radiosurgery represents a noninvasive alternative treatment for intracranial metastases. OBJECTIVE To investigate the treatment outcome of linear accelerator-based stereotactic radiosurgery (linac-SRS) for brainstem metastases. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed our database of patients who were diagnosed with brainstem metastases and underwent linac-SRS between 199...
متن کاملEsophageal tolerance to high-dose stereotactic radiosurgery
PURPOSE Esophageal tolerance is needed to guide the safe administration of stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS). We evaluated comprehensive dose-volume parameters of acute esophageal toxicity in patients with spinal metastasis treated with SRS. MATERIALS AND METHODS From May 2008 to May 2011, 30 cases in 27 patients with spinal metastasis received single fraction SRS to targets neighboring esophag...
متن کاملDose selection in stereotactic radiosurgery.
Selecting optimal doses for radiosurgery requires a thorough consideration of existing dose-response data for radiation injury of brain and surrounding structures and of the doseresponse for the desired endpoint (tumor control, obliteration of a vascular malformation, relief of trigeminal neuralgia, etc.). This paper reviews the radiobiological and physics principles that should be considered i...
متن کاملStereotactic Radiosurgery in the Treatment of Sarcoma Brain Metastasis
CNS metastases from systemic sarcoma are exceedingly rare and difficult to treat, as the lesions appear late in the course of the disease. The situation is even more complicated by the fact that sarcoma is considered a radioresistant tumor of mesenchymal origin. Adjuvant CyberKnife radiosurgery (CKSRS) as a treatment option has not been described in the management of secondary central nervous s...
متن کاملTreatment of Large Brain Metastases With Stereotactic Radiosurgery.
INTRODUCTION We report our series of patients with large brain metastases, >3 cm in diameter, who received stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) as a component of their treatment, focusing on survival and intracranial recurrence rates. MATERIALS AND METHODS The brain tumor database was queried for patients treated with SRS for large brain metastases. Local recurrence (LR) and distant brain recurren...
